The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has distanced itself from the recent ‘alleged’ endorsement for Peter Obi.
In a press statement, issued by the party’s Board of Trustees Chairman, Senator Patricia Akwashiki, described the act as “fraudulent, void and of no effect”.
The BOT chairman blamed a faction of the Party, led by its immediate past National Chairman, Ralph Nwosu for the anti-party activity.
She further warned that those involved in the act to desist or face the full wrath of the law.
The statement read in part, “They have divided themselves into three groups and collected money from APC, PDP and Labour. One party, three endorsements within the space of four days. Shameful.”
The Ralph Nwosu faction of the ADC, on Monday, announced that it endorsed the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and vice presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed ahead of the general elections.
This follows multiple statements made by the ADC presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu, which indicated that the other faction of the party has always had plans to sell its mandate to another party.
In a press statement released on 17th February 2023, Kachikwu decried how the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has colluded with the Nwosu faction to frustrate his political ambition.
This was one of many warnings made by the candidate.
