DSS raids terrorists’ negotiator residence, office in Kaduna

A team of the Department of State Service (DSS) on Thursday, raided the residence of Tukur Mamu, the Publisher of Kaduna-based Desert Herald and Media Consultant to controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi.

It was gathered that DSS operatives stormed Mamu’s residence and the office of the Desert Herald Newspaper at about 12:30 am.

The officers ransacked every nook and cranny of the house and carted away laptops, phones and documents.

Recall that, Mamu was arrested at the Cairo International Airport, Egypt while he was waiting for a connecting flight to Saudi Arabia.

The terrorists’ negotiator was said to have been arrested in Egypt alongside his family members.

He was deported to Nigeria and detained by DSS.

The security agency confirmed the news saying Mamu is a wanted person.

Also, confirming the arrest, the Management of the Desert Herald Newspaper, said the arrest was an attempt to intimidate its publisher.
