The former Governor of Bayelsa State, Henry Seriake Dickson, has won the Bayelsa West Senatorial District Seat in the December 5 by-election in the state.
Dickson was declared Senator-elect by the returning Officer, Prof. Ekechukwe Okeke, Dean of Humanities, Federal University of Technology, Otuoke, after polling 115,257 votes to defeat his closest rival, Hon. Peremobowei Ebebi, of APC, who polled 17,541.
Dickson, speaking after his victory, dedicated his win to God, the voters, Bayelsa state and the Ijaw nation.
He said his legislative mission would focus on the pursuit of the imperative of restructuring the country which he described as a task that must be done.
